It’ll be almost the truth if A say that I grew up at the airbase. My father used to be a pilot and I wanted to follow him. Unfortunately, because of bad sight, it was not possible. But everything changes. Now I will tell you how my dream came true.
It is the not a secret that you can find everything in the Internet. I spent a lot of hours searching for companies, which can make my dream come true. We always want to do pictures or videos for memory, but it is forbidden at the base. Fortunately, I decided to order filming in “Country of Tourism”.
In the case if you desire to know something very good, you should start from the history. So did I. There is a historucal museum at the Sokol airbase. In that museum you will be able to see whatever you want, beginning from 1932 up to our days. All process is opened for you, beginning from special materials to flight testings.
After the consultation I went for medic to check. The doctor checked my blood pressure and general health conditions.
Next point was the dressing room to wear a flight suit. For my Mig 31 Edge of Space flight it was necessary to dress a special G-suit. The instructor provided me with instruction how to use the helmet,and oxygen mask.
After the short ride to the runway together with my trainer, I was in one moment from my dream. The first flight will be on Mig 31 to the . I would like to recommend to do it first to everybody, for the reason that it’s not critical from G-point of view and you can be prepared for mig 29 aerobatic flight.
Flying to the Edge of Space I got the picture of my life! Deep black sky, small stars and Globe of the Earth were so near at the altitude of 65000 feets! You were at the Edge of Space! I took out the photograph of my father (friendly allowed to be taken on board) from my pocket and a small tear runs on my face.
After that flight I needed something extreme. The only thing, what can exceed is Mig29 and its maneuvers. Weak G-force didn’t make any effect on me, so the pilot began his unbelivable performance. Absolutely different maneuvers made my head go round! On speed of two Mach we passed supersonic barrier.And the main great moment - the pilot says to me: “Take control, and the famous Mig fighter is in my hands! I remembered my Dad, who would be proud of me in this wonderful moment! Sorry, but he is not alive and cannot see his and my dream! But thanks to Country of Tourism flying on Mig 31 to the Edge of Space I was really close to him and could say great thanks for all
